Week Four- The Comic Book

Today I Read some Tin Tin, Explorers on the Moon and Tales from the Crypt #21. I chose those two comics specifically because I have heard of them and seen a movie or tv show based off of them. If I were to compare the movie to the comic, in both situations I would rather read the comic and would even recommend it. I mean go ahead watch the films but I personally enjoyed reading the comics much more since I could go at my own pace and obviously being an artist I enjoy looking at the illustrations.
       I read Tin Tin first since I felt it the easiest to digest, I love love love the environments he creates, they r simple yet also realistic. His characters bring back the comic-ness for me with the round more cartoon-ish look he uses. very familiar and warm looking. The dialogue was also interesting, I loved the sort of 'old fasioned' tone and phrases used. "by Lucifer!" haha.
       The first time I ever heard of the Tales from the Crypt was on TV watching "the Bordello of Blood" mind you I was 9-10ish and should absolutely not be watching this mini movie....
Anyhow, years later I found the movie again and have recently been watching the show. I love the comics, they are short enough that I can read one quickly as a past time in between classes and I don't have to put it down before I can finish. the end morals are hilarious and I recommend that you pick up a tale at least once in you're lifetime. I'm thinking about collecting some of the comics soon.
